Huntington Beach Playhouse welcomes
submissions of scripts from new playwrights, especially
those from our local area and surrounding communities.
For the past two years, we have included a new musical
in each season and have been pleased at the quality of
the work and the receptiveness of our patrons.
Our program selection committee reads many scripts new
and old each year and each script is judged on its own
merits. Our season runs concurrently with the calendar
year and our patrons prefer comedies, farces and
musicals. If you are a playwright living in Huntington
Beach or nearby whose script has not been produced, we are very interested in your work.
If a new script is selected by HBPH, it will be
scheduled for a First Reading, so that the playwright
and an audience may hear the text read by actors and
participate in a post-performance discussion. If all
goes well, the play may be included for a full
production during the subsequent season.
